NanoWriMo, Tinderbox

Musing 11/26/16

CwLUYuUVUAEu6piWow!  I haven’t posted here since August?  Well it’s kind of understandable.  Just the usual mess going on.  I did try NanoWriMo 2016 but between school, work and life in general it looks like I’m not going to make it.  Besides I just haven’t felt like writing for months.  Hell, right now I’m sitting here trying to keep from nodding off.  I don’t know why I’m so sleepy lately.  Maybe just getting old.  Or it’s from the medication I was prescribed after my surgery.

Besides, it’s not like anyone reads this blog anyway.

I know, I shouldn’t say things like that.  No offense, maybe I’m just in a mood since stay-cation is ending.

I wish I had some writing news for you but nothing much has been happening writing-wise for months now.  Most evenings and days off are spent doing school-work.  I’m going for my Bachelors as you may know.  Trying to improve myself and all that.

And I’m going to spill the beans – I’m actually waiting to hear back from two agents who have full copies of Tinderbox, as well as two new queries.  I was trying to wait until I heard positive or negative, although they say don’t mention the negative online but hey, rejection happens to all of us, right?  It’s just been awhile without any word for some.

I’ve also not been doing some of the things that help me focus when I’m writing.  In fact there have been a lot of things I stopped doing.  Music was always a big part of my process.  Usually New Age Music.  Artists like David Arkenstone, Keiko Matsui, Ray Lynch, Kevin Braheny, Larry Fast and one of my very favorites – The Art of Noise among other artists.  Of course this has caused me to go through my CD’s.  Does anyone really buy CD’s anymore?  A lot of my music is streamed.

When I first found New Age – courtesy of an independent bookstore owner, I was into it immediately and it was perfect for fantasy.  A lot of what I purchased was before CD’s existed (Yes, I’ve said it before, I’m old.)  So most of it is gone.  Some was converted to CD and I was able to purchase them.  But I haven’t purchased on even listened to much lately.  The closest I’ve come to, the soundtrack for Coraline and Video Games Live (which is coming to a nearby state next year!).

Wish I had more news writing-wise.  Sorry about that.

Peace~

CJ
