Just dropping by for a look see and I’ve found I have a bit of things to catch up on. I don’t believe I mentioned before that I’m on stay-cation again this week and apparently, it’s just what I needed. I had a few bad spots but all and all I feel pretty good. Hell, even my chiropractor said stay-cation obviously worked well on me as he didn’t have quite as much trouble with my monthly physical therapy.
I’m not quite sure if this spells the end of my hiatus. I did do something that I haven’t done since back in the day. Are you ready for this? I sent Tinderbox directly to a publisher – DAW Books to be exact. I’m assuming I don’t have to tell you who they are? Just in case here’s their Wikipedia Page and their site on Penguin.
They are pretty much the biggest and the only publisher of straight science-fiction and fantasy and they’ve been around since the 70’s. I’m really hoping for this one because I’ve wanted to be published by them for a long time. So fingers and toes crossed for me!
I also did a bit of work on Soul Fires (Souls Inflamed) but I’m not going to force myself to do more than I’m feeling like. Still it was nice to get back to pecking away at the old keyboard again.
My Big Brother’s Birthday is Saturday and I’ve sent him happily on a three day fishing trip, which means the house is all mine – I plan on getting a lot of sleeping done and eating junk food. Drake’s Devil Dogs were on sale 2 for $6. Top that off with Nabisco Chocolate Chunk Cookies and a big quart of chocolate milk and I’m all set!
And I spent a bit of time at Barnes & Noble as well. Not a sit down but I did buy two new books, Dark Light of Day by Jill Archer, and The Golden City by J. Kathleen Cheney.
So as this post and my stay-cation comes to a close I’m going to do what I did today and take several naps throughout. Then my garden. I’ve already done my shopping and perhaps a bit more writing. Have a great weekend all.
