One of my favorite people online has stepped back from the political mayhem by pausing notifications for people who continue to speak in what I am assuming is an upsetting manner concerning the presidential race. And that is PERFECTLY FINE! This whole thing can be stressful, triggering, and downright depressing.
I’ve said before that I normally don’t discuss politics online to avoid time-consuming and useless debates. You won’t change my mind. Especially considered the choices we have. It was bad enough last time Trump was president. And I still can’t believe that happened! I think maybe we’ve all dropped into one of those Back to the Future skewed tangents and are currently in an alternate evil universe.
And when Trump became president, our beloved country transformed into something that made alternate Hill Valley look like a resort town. I won’t get into specifics. I don’t believe I need to. We’ve all seen the hate-mongering that spread across the US. The violence, killing and the cessation of basic rights. Well, if Trump wins, we might as well move to another country. Cher says she’s moving to Jupiter. I wonder if she’d like some traveling companions.
But in all seriousness, if you watched the rallies, debates and the reputable news sources, you’ll see that we are screwed if Trump wins. Knowing this, I don’t understand why so many people are still supporting him. Do they have blinders on to the truth? And earplugs? Did they not see what happened in Erie, PA? And let’s get one thing straight. To all those people who are defending Tony Hinchcliffe, saying he was just joking — jokes are supposed to be funny. Calling Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage IS NOT FUNNY! By the way, I’ve never heard of Tony Hinchcliffe before that day. Who the hell is this guy? Well, don’t ask Trump, who insisted he didn’t know who the comedian was, either. Paper towels anyone?
Brett Meiselas, host of MeidasTouch (that is so clever!) reminded us in the below video of the many transgressions Trump is guilty of from his last time in office. He urges us to share the video because people clearly need reminding.
Hopefully, next election year, we won’t have to go through all of this. And I will once again be able to quietly vote and be thankful that the right person won.
For now, YOU MUST VOTE! And for the candidate who is not suggesting we have a Purge. And yes, HE SAID THAT! I watched the Erie rally twice to make sure I got his exact words:
“We have to let the police do their job and if they have to be extraordinarily rough.”
“Now if you had one really violent day … put him (Mike Kelly) in charge for one day…Would you say Mike that if you were in charge, would you say don’t touch them, don’t touch them let them rob your store? All these stores go out of business, right? One rough hour. The word will get out and it will end immediately.”
If that doesn’t sound like the plot for The Purge, I don’t know what does. Or, I suppose we should call this a Reverse Purge? So what if he back-pedaled and made it an hour? Not to mention blaming all crime on immigrants.
There is so much more. His disrespect of woman in demanding to regulate what they do with their bodies. That we are just here to please men and do whatever they tell us. That we are just playthings to provide pleasure. His plans for the immigrants in this country. And by the way, does getting rid of all the immigrants include your wife? But to be technical, unless you’re an Indigenous People, you’re an immigrant. Let’s not forget the insults and the total thoughtless actions and opinions of our territories. They are American Citizens!
And let’s not get into the rally where, instead of answering questions, he started playing a weird mixture of songs while swaying like he was on drugs for thirty-nine minutes. Did you see the look on Melania’s face? And the air-kisses? Or Erie, Pennsylvania, where he left crowds stranded in the freezing cold at night. Or what he said during the debate with Kamala, … they [immigrants] are eating pets. At least Kamala got a good incredulous laugh out of that one.
Why isn’t this enough to change people’s minds? As quoted in 9 to 5, “…he’s a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot!” I shouldn’t need to provide anymore examples. This is quite enough.
SO, ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024 — GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!*
Peace,
Wendy
